Apple releases Safari for Windows XP and Vista users

The Google Operating System blog blogged that Apple launched a beta version for Safari 3 for both Mac and Windows XP/Vista users.

I don’t really want to talk about Apple’s claim that Safari is “the fastest, easiest-to-use web browser in the world” or that it loads pages two times faster than Internet Explorer or about the fact that this beta version is not a very stable release (frequent crashes may be experienced).

My focus today is to point out that people who visit your site, view it through various types of browsers, not only Internet Explorer. Even though people use IE more often than other browsers it does not mean that you should design or have your site designed for IE users only.

Any developer or SEO who designs websites should always create designs that are compatible in all types of browsers.

I always make sure my designs and CSS layouts can be viewed correctly in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Netscape and now, thanks to Apple, I can add Safari 3 to the list.

My decision to install Safari 3 is not to enhance my browsing experience but simply to test how compatible and scalable my new designs are in Safari without having to buy a Mac or using a service like Browsrcamp.

If you are a site owner you need to check whether your site can be correctly viewed in all types of browsers. Get Safari 3 as well as Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Netscape to test your site compatibility on the these browsing platforms.
