Google upgrades Google Trends tool

While reading my news and feeds this morning, I discovered that Google made some upgrades to their Trends tool by adding a “Hot Trends” tracker. Google Trends is a great resource for keyword research, and now this new “Hot Trends” feature makes it easier to see what’s hot on Google on a daily basis.

The “Hot Trends” list contains the most popular search phrases for any given day based on top queries made in the US. You should not expect to see everything that is searched for as search terms relating to pornography or searches about the weather, popular Web sites like MySpace.com and searches for top celebrities are excluded from the list.

As I mentioned above, these trends are only based on US searches and I could not find a trend list for searches done on Google South Africa. That would have been nice, but, it is still a good resource and you can pick up the latest trend for keyword searches related to your site.

Go to Google Trends to do some keyword research of your own or find the link at the bottom that says “More Hot Trends” to find the top 100 list for the day.

Thanks for the tip. I am checking it out. I liked also their intro on gmail of 20MBs in attachment capability, which will see more and more circulation of vids online. They must have realised that the web is becoming more and more visual.

Hi Isreal (sorry, Izz), social media is gaining popularity very quickly, that’s why Google is adding these other ways to find info. It’s so easy to add your video on the Web these days and it’s changing the way we will market our products. It will be the way of the future.

The future it is. I hope that you haven’t deprived yourself of reading the book (of the Google and Search story) The Search, by John Battelle. If not, see my review of it here and I hope you make the time to grab a copy. http://izzonline.blogspot.com/.....telle.html
      Enjoy.
