Matt Cutts update on Canonicalization

Matt Cutts updates us again on canonical domain issues. Erm, what is “canonicalization again?

Catch up on this issue by reading Matt’s previous post or by visiting this post to see all the ways that you can have the same content on urls that are technically different.

In short, Matt talks about canonical issues and how it affects or might affect your site’s PageRank. Is the PR of www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com the same?

Well, it should be. He says that Google correctly stores your PageRank and uses it correctly in scoring.

My best advice is to make sure that you sort out any canonical problems on your domain in case you keep an eye on the PR indicator.

Matt also give advice on how to sort out canonical issues, so head on over to his post for a canonical update
