New Version of Google Analytics
I usually log into my Google Analytics account once a month to check on my site- and blog stats as well as those of my clients. I noticed the announcement about the new version of Google Analytics, so while I was reading up on it at the Google Analytics Blog I also saw a few other people starting to blog on it as well. Here is an overview…
Google Analytics will be activating a new, updated version of their popular web analytics tool on all current Analytics accounts over the next few weeks. You will have to watch your email or log into your account to see the changes.
Here is a screenshot:

The Google Analytics Blog reports that the whole interface has been redesigned for greater customization and collaboration, making it easier for businesses and website owners to find and share the data needed to make informed decisions. The new version will present data more clearly and in context, which means that you only have to look at a single report to gain insights rather than having to pull up several reports to understand what action to take.
Some of the improvements include:
- Email and export reports: Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails and export reports in PDF format.
- Custom Dashboard: No more digging through reports. Put all the information you need on a custom dashboard that you can email to others.
- Trend and Over-time Graph: Compare time periods and select date ranges without losing sight of long term trends.
- Contextual help tips: Context sensitive Help and Conversion University tips are available from every report.
They’ve gone on to say that the demand for website analytics has increased significantly, which is so true. To monetize your site or blog properly, you need to keep an eye on your site visitors to know where they are coming from, what they are looking for, what possible problems your site may have, etc.
All of these questions can be answered by studying many of the stats or analytics tools on the web today, but it seems that Google has focused their efforts to provide even better features so that experts and non-experts alike can quickly and easily find the answers to troubling questions.
I am eagerly waiting my turn to see the changes on my account.
